Betfair Punter stakes £32 and wins £510,955.60

Betfair have offered their customers the facility to place Tote bets on the exchange since Feb 28th - and after little over a month, one has netted a whopping £510,955.60 after landing the Aintree jackpot today.

The Betfair punter only staked £32, and had two £1 lines running onto Boycuk and Oedipe in the final leg 4.55pm, which the latter won at 20/1.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Since we launched the Tote facility on our site in February, we have been delighted with the take-up from our customers.

"And one in particular will be thrilled we have, especially as we don’t take any commission from Tote bets!."

Update

The Betfair punter has been named as David Smith, 49, from Beckenham. He has been a Betfair user since 2002 and he said:

"This is actually the first time i have used the Tote facility on Betfair! I saw there was a jackpot rollover and how quick and easy it was to have the Tote bet on Betfair, with one click of a button.So i thought why not? "I'm going to be celebrating tonight, thats for sure."
