Can Tony McCoy win the 2010 Aintree Grand National?

Grand National Staff - 29 Mar 2010

It’s that time of the year again and with the Grand National now less than two weeks away, the big question will once again be whether or not Tony McCoy can achieve his first victory in the world’s most prestigious steeplechase.

Leading Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is not taking too many chances on McCoy tasting National glory for the first time in 2010 and are offering new customers a free £50 bet on the jockey to win the race at an attractive looking 12/1.

Questioned about his chosen horse and his chances ahead of Aintree, McCoy explained,"You can make a case for the four of them, really.

"None of them are outstanding candidates, I wouldn't have thought. King Johns Castle has been second in a National [behind Comply Or Die in 2008], Arbor Supreme ran well the last day, Can't Buy Time was a bit disappointing last time out and so was Don't Push It.

"I haven't really spoken to the boss about it yet. As I don't have to make a choice until two days beforehand, I'll probably leave it fairly late."
