Ladbrokes have cut Grand National favourite My Will to 7/1 (from 8/1) following confirmation that Ruby Walsh will partner the Aintree favourite.

Spokesman David Williams said: "As soon as Ruby made his mind up we knew we'd have to shorten the odds. Precisely how much faith the public now put in the King of Cheltenham remains to be seen.

"We're now waiting to hear confirmation of Tony McCoy's plans for the National. The same thing will happen to the odds of his mount as soon as the news breaks."

In other Aintree news, Mr Pointment's odds for Friday's Topham Chase were slashed to 10/1 (from 20/1 via 14/1 on Monday morning) following good support for the Liverpool specialist.

"Mr Pointment stands out like a sore thumb in our Topham market.

"He's been heavily backed at fancy prices and we could do with him finishing out of the frame" added Williams.
