Those on My Will at massive three-figure prices for the Grand National on
Betfair - he has been matched at [330.0] for the race on the exchange - are sitting even prettier this morning after Ruby Walsh today committed to ride the horse at the weekend.
The Gold Cup fifth is 8lb well in on official figures, and is provisionally 3lb clear of the field on Timeform ratings.
My Will is [1.91] on Betfair to be returned the favourite at the industry SP.
Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Speculation about names and public sympathies dictating what will start as Grand National favourite look a touch fanciful - Saturday's market-leader will surely be dictated by sustained professional money and heavy-hitters unloading.
"With that in mind the 10-11 about My Will starting favourite looks a big price.
"But who can forget Monkerhostin starting [9.0] co-favourite with Joes Edge and Point Barrow in 2007?
"Then, it was alleged that one huge SP, off-course bet from a high-staking individual was hedged back into the on-course market, forcing his price to be slashed from 25-1 into 8-1.
"I seem to recall that the price held up rather better on Betfair, but our Name The Favourite market on Saturday will be settled at industry SP, and not Betfair SP."
